Workmanship and Project Resolution Policy

At Smith & Vasser, our goal is to give every customer a clear understanding of the work required and the best path toward completing their project safely, efficiently, and correctly. We use our professional experience, available plans, site conditions, and information provided by the customer to develop our recommendations and scope of work.

Plumbing and construction projects can involve conditions that are not visible or known during the initial inspection, design, or planning process. Existing damage, concealed utilities, code requirements, site conditions, changes to the requested work, and other unforeseen circumstances may affect the original plan, schedule, or cost. If we discover a significant discrepancy, we will explain the situation and discuss the available options before proceeding with additional work whenever reasonably possible.

Reporting a Concern

If you believe there is a problem with work completed by Smith & Vasser, please notify us in writing and provide:

  • Your name and contact information

  • The property address

  • The date the work was performed

  • A description of the concern

  • Photographs, videos, invoices, or other relevant documentation

  • Your preferred availability for an inspection

Written notices should be emailed to contact@smithandvasser.com.

Response and Resolution Timeframes

We make reasonable efforts to review reported concerns and schedule a property visit within the following timeframes:

  • Residential projects: usually within seven calendar days

  • Commercial projects: usually within 30 calendar days

These are target response and inspection timeframes, not guaranteed repair-completion dates. Scheduling may be affected by the nature of the concern, property access, weather, emergencies, material availability, permitting, inspections, and other circumstances outside our control.

After evaluating the concern, we will explain our findings and determine whether corrective work is appropriate. If the concern is related to our workmanship and falls within the applicable project agreement or warranty, we will make reasonable efforts to correct it. Work caused by preexisting conditions, normal wear, misuse, alterations by others, work outside the agreed scope, or circumstances beyond our control may require a separate estimate and authorization.

Dispute Resolution

We ask that all disputes and requests for corrective work be submitted in writing so there is a clear record of the concern and our response. Customers should allow Smith & Vasser a reasonable opportunity to inspect the property and propose a resolution before arranging corrective work through another contractor, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect people or property.
